I was too busy just wandering around and exploring the various rooms that are available in the beginning and getting comfortable with the controls, items, and having fun taking down zombies. I was almost heartbroken when my timer ran out, and I can tell you I didn’t get very far in the primary objective. The atmosphere is exceptionally creepy, as is expected from a game in this series, but I wasn’t dealing with so much anxiety that I couldn’t appreciate the various puzzles you find throughout the level.

It feels new and nostalgic at the same time, and I’m all about that. The graphics are perfect maybe not exactly as realistic as Red Dead Redemption 2, but not far from it. I am told that the combat knife I am given will eventually break after so many uses, so that will be an interesting dynamic to play with I do love me some degenerating weaponry. While I found using the combat knife didn’t allow me to dispatch enemies as quickly as three (or more these are some hardcore zombies) headshots, it is nice to have a close-range option. I quickly fell in love with the space-saving item-stack option and the ability to use a melee or long-range weapon. In this demo, you only get half an hour to either play through the missions assigned or just wander around and explore, and I did the latter. Instead of a remaster, Capcom is giving us a remake, or reimagining, of Resident Evil 2, and boy does it look gorgeous.

After spending the allotted thirty minutes on the Resident Evil 2 remake demo, 1-Shot, I have to say, I’m still extremely excited for this game.
